Announced in April 2021 the Renaissance Downtown hotel in Business Bay Dubai will be rebranded to become the St Regis Hotel Downtown Dubai. This property was intimate, extremely well finished and maintained high average daily rates, so it seems fitting that it be given an upgrade to one of Marriott’s highest brands St Regis.

Review of The St Regis Downtown Dubai – Highlights
- Located just 5 minutes away from Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and 10 min away from DIFC the hotel is ideally situated for both leisure and business travelers, looking to enjoy the best of Dubai.
- The Edition Downtown Dubai hotel is also around the block and near completion – this will be the first Edition hotel in Dubai and be on par with the St. Regis as a top tier Marriott branded property. Not to mention another one of Marriott’s premium segment brands the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai (review linked), which is already a landmark hotel in the city with an inventory over 1,600 rooms!
- The hotel already currently offers excellent food and beverage options with restaurants Bleu Blanc and BASTA! from chef David Meyers, time will tell if these will also be changed for different concepts or remain.
- Signature features to St Regis include butler service with all room types, so this new standard will be added as well as design elements fitting to the brand standard. It is said that the lobby will and meeting room spaces will also be redone and refreshed.
- This will be the second St Regis hotel to open in Dubai in 2021, following the much anticipated St Regis The Palm in the Nakheel tower (review linked).

- The St Regis Hotel Downtown Dubai will be rebranded by the end of 2021. It is unclear currently if the hotel will partially shut down during this transition period, or remain open while the upgrades and renaming are done.
- Currently the rates as of 2021 for the hotel hover around the 200 USD mark for standard rooms, it will be interesting to see the premium that will be added for the St Regis brand name.
