St. Regis Downtown Dubai Review | Dubai, UAE

The St. Regis Downtown Dubai occupies the former Renaissance Downtown property in Business Bay. Our original review covered the hotel before its brand transition.

We found the property intimate and very well finished. This update replaces the old opening predictions with current facilities and booking details. It does not claim a new stay under the St. Regis brand.

Updated September 2026.

St. Regis Downtown Dubai: Details

  • Address: Marasi Drive, Business Bay, Dubai.
  • Telephone: +971 4 512 5555.
  • Check in: 3pm. Check out: Noon.
  • Parking: Complimentary self parking and valet parking; electric charging is listed.
  • Pets: Not allowed.

See the official St. Regis Downtown Dubai website for reservations and current notices. Marriott states that the hotel remains open and operational in its regional travel advisory.

What Has Changed Since Our Original Review

The rebrand is complete. References to a future 2021 opening, possible transition closures and a forthcoming video have been removed.

Our original photographs remain below for context. They show the earlier property, so do not assume that every interior still looks identical.

Highlights and Current Facilities

  • Canal setting: The hotel overlooks Dubai Water Canal. It is a city base for Business Bay and Downtown, rather than a beach resort.
  • Space: Marriott lists 220 guestrooms and 78 suites. Room features include rain showers, separate bathtubs and walk in closets.
  • Butler service: The current accommodation page confirms round the clock butler service for all rooms and suites.
  • Views: Categories vary between canal, Downtown and partial Burj Khalifa views. Book the stated view rather than assuming a complimentary upgrade.
  • Relaxation: Current facilities include an infinity pool and St. Regis Spa.

The official room descriptions help distinguish layouts and views.

Nearby alternatives include The Dubai EDITION and the much larger JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. Both are useful comparisons when choosing a central Dubai hotel.

Restaurants and Breakfast

Our earlier review highlighted Bleu Blanc and BASTA! as excellent dining options at the former hotel. That historical list is not the current restaurant lineup.

Marriott now lists BASTA! for Italian food, Ginori Terrace and the Japanese restaurant TABŪ. Other options include The St. Regis Bar and poolside drinks.

Breakfast is available at BASTA! and Ginori Terrace for a fee. Check whether your room package includes it. See the current dining guide for hours, menus and reservations.

Things to Note

  • Our earlier rate of around US$200 reflected 2021. It is not a current quote or a reliable benchmark.
  • Dubai International Airport is listed as approximately 15 kilometres away. Traffic affects transfer times.
  • Being near Downtown does not mean every attraction is a short walk. Plan transport around the weather and your itinerary.
  • Breakfast, room views and cancellation terms can materially change the value of a rate.

For a different location, our St. Regis Dubai The Palm review explains the Palm alternative. Check that article’s operating notice before planning a stay.

Booking Tips and Value

  1. Compare the same room category across rates, including taxes and breakfast.
  2. Choose a canal or skyline view explicitly if it matters to your stay.
  3. Confirm any Marriott Bonvoy benefits for your status and booking channel.
  4. Reserve popular restaurants separately; a room booking is not a table reservation. For a casual Downtown outing, our Time Out Market Dubai guide covers the Souk Al Bahar food hall.

The old Mastercard BOG offer has been removed because its current validity was not established. Judge value using a live quote, not an expired promotion.

For us, the original appeal was the intimate atmosphere and quality of the interiors. A premium makes more sense when you will use the room, dining and service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the former Renaissance Downtown Dubai?

Yes. The property now operates as The St. Regis Downtown Dubai.

Do all rooms include butler service?

Yes. Marriott’s current accommodation page lists it for all guestrooms and suites.

Is breakfast automatically included?

No. It is offered for a fee unless your selected rate or confirmed benefits include it.

The Brief Review Verdict

The original property impressed us with its intimate feel and polished finish. Today’s St. Regis offering adds a clear luxury service proposition and updated dining options.

Consider it for a canal side city stay. Our firsthand assessment remains tied to the earlier hotel, not a newly tested St. Regis experience.
