This walkthrough shows the compact standard room from our stay.
Location and Transport
The hotel sits in Sophia Antipolis, one of Europe’s largest technology districts. A car makes the location much easier to use. Antibes, Cannes, Mougins and Valbonne are all within driving distance.
Nice Airport is 17.8 km away. Marriott lists a scheduled public bus connection but no hotel shuttle. Always check the current route and fare before travel.
For nearby stays, compare our La Bastide de Mougins review and Sheraton Nice Airport review. The Mouratoglou Tennis Academy review is useful for visitors coming to Biot for training.
Lobby and Social Spaces
Check in takes place at the bar, which also acts as the heart of the hotel. The open lobby includes tables, lounge seats, games and work areas. A round the clock grab and go counter supplies snacks and drinks.
The atmosphere felt youthful and informal during our visit. This works well for short stays and groups. Guests seeking a quiet, traditional lobby may prefer another hotel.
Rooms
The rooms focus on compact design. Our room had a comfortable bed, television, power points and USB charging. Wall hooks and a folding desk helped make use of the limited floor area.
There was no full wardrobe or minibar. The bathroom was also very small, with a shower, toilet and compact basin. These compromises are typical of the Moxy concept, but they matter on longer stays.
Pool and Fitness
The 25 metre outdoor pool was the hotel’s strongest leisure feature. It offered much more space than expected from a compact lifestyle hotel. Loungers and a poolside bar made the area easy to enjoy in warm weather.
Marriott also lists a complimentary gym that remains open around the clock. It includes cardio equipment, weights and a boxing bag.
Food and Breakfast
The hotel currently promotes two bar areas and a 24 hour grab and go offer. Food is designed around casual meals, snacks and drinks rather than a full restaurant experience.
Breakfast during our stay was a compact continental spread. It included yoghurt, cheese, sliced meats, pastries, bread, spreads, waffles and a self service coffee machine. It became busy after 8 am.
Breakfast is not complimentary as a standard hotel inclusion. Check the booked rate and any current Marriott Bonvoy benefit before arrival.
Things to Note
- The hotel now uses the name Moxy Antibes Sophia Antipolis.
- Rooms and bathrooms are compact, with limited enclosed storage.
- A car is helpful for beaches, villages and evening dining.
- The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle.
- The outdoor pool and poolside bar may be seasonal.
- Pet fees and transport fares can change.
Tips for a Better Stay
- Choose a pool or mountain outlook if available.
- Pack lightly because room storage is limited.
- Confirm pool and bar opening dates outside summer.
- Use the complimentary parking if exploring the Riviera by car.
- Reserve electric charging space early if possible.
Value
The Moxy works best when its rate is lower than full service hotels on the coast. Free parking, the 25 metre pool and the social lobby add value. Compact rooms and the inland location are the main trade offs.
It is a sensible base for Sophia Antipolis, Biot and nearby business parks. Leisure travellers should compare the cost and convenience of driving to Antibes, Cannes and Nice.
