What the market feels like
The market solves a familiar Dubai dining problem. Everyone can order from a different kitchen, then meet at the same table.
It remains a large and polished food hall rather than a traditional market. Orders are placed at individual counters. Portions are generally designed as complete dishes, although sharing is the best way to sample more.
The terrace remains one of the strongest reasons to visit. It has open views towards Burj Khalifa and the fountain. Outdoor seating is most comfortable during the cooler months.
Current restaurants and bars
The opening lineup from 2021 has changed substantially. Current choices listed by Time Out include Mattar, Masti, Pitfire Pizza, REIF, Long Teng, BB Social Dining and Scoopi.
Newer names include à la grecque, Boon Coffee, Café Isan Thai, CQ French Brasserie, Fusion Ceviche, Izu Burger, Little Jun’s, Onda by Alici, Slab Cocina and Three by Eva. The three bars are Atrium Bar, Fountain Bar and Palace Bar.
The lineup is curated but not permanent. Use the current food and drink directory before visiting for one specific restaurant.
Our original 2021 food experience
Our first visit took place shortly after the market opened. We tried several kitchens rather than ordering one full meal from a single counter.
Mattar Farm’s salted beef brisket with macaroni and cheese was a highlight. The pepperoni pizza from Pitfire also travelled well from counter to table.
Nightjar’s Basque cheesecake gave us a good dessert option. Fulvio’s carbonara was presented generously and made the market feel more ambitious than a normal food court.
