The Location
The hotel makes a strong base for exploring Manhattan. It is close to the 28th Street subway stations and within walking distance of Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building.
Chelsea, Koreatown, NoMad and the Flatiron District are all easy to reach. Downtown and Uptown trips are also straightforward by subway.

The Room Experience
Room choices focus more on bed layout and view than on extra floor space. Options include king rooms, double rooms and bunk configurations. Higher categories can add a landmark view.
Our room was very small. The sink and toiletries were open to the bedroom, while the toilet and shower sat beside the entrance. Two complimentary Fiji water bottles and soap were provided during our stay, though amenities can change.
The Bed
The bed occupied most of the room, but it was comfortable and suited a short stay. This layout works best when you plan to spend most of the day exploring New York.
Storage and Work Space
Storage was located under the bed and along the walls. There was no traditional wardrobe. A folding desk could be lowered from the wall when we needed a place for a laptop.
The View
The furnishings felt clean and well made. Everything was easy to reach, and the large windows brought welcome light into the small room. The view depends heavily on the floor and room category.
Looking back from the window shows how compact the layout is. The sink is on one side, with the toilet and shower on the other.
Lobby, Dining and Rooftop
The first floor lounge was one of our favourite spaces. It was comfortable for work during the day and had far more room than the guest room. Complimentary American coffee was available in takeaway cups during the morning when we stayed.
The current dining lineup includes Café d’Avignon, the Lobby Bar, Moxy Afterdark and Luchini Italian. The Fleur Room is the glass enclosed rooftop lounge, with broad views across Manhattan.
A Starbright Floral Design shop forms part of the entrance. It fits the surrounding Flower District and gives arrival more personality than a standard hotel lobby.
Who Should Stay Here?
Moxy Chelsea works well for solo travellers and couples who want a central base. It also suits short stays when location matters more than room size.
Families or guests with several large suitcases should compare layouts carefully. The bunk rooms can help with sleeping space, but the overall room remains compact.
