JW Marriott Cannes occupies a prime position on Boulevard de la Croisette. Shops, restaurants, the waterfront and central Cannes are all easy to reach on foot.
Our stay combined friendly service with a comfortable junior suite and strong access to the Riviera. The rooftop pool was attractive, though small and busy during summer.
JW Marriott Cannes location and history
The hotel stands on the site of the former Palais des Festivals. The current building was not where the first Cannes Film Festival took place. Its cinema theme reflects the site’s later festival history.
Palais Stéphanie Beach sits across the Croisette. Marriott now describes it as the hotel’s partner beach rather than direct private beach access.
Our junior suite
We stayed in a junior suite with dark colours, leather details and film photography. A living area with a sofa and television sat beside the bedroom.

The layout provided a useful separation between relaxing and sleeping. However, the bathroom was accessed from the living area rather than directly from the bedroom.
The large bathroom had a single vanity.
The bathroom included the amenities expected from the brand during our stay. A double vanity would have made the space more practical for two guests.

The Marriott bed was very comfortable. Cinema photography helped connect the room to Cannes without making the design feel theatrical.

As returning Marriott Gold members, we received juice and French macarons. This was our experience, not a guaranteed benefit for every booking.

Rooftop pool and beach
The rooftop gives the hotel one of its best views. Its swimming pool is complimentary for hotel guests, but the deck can fill quickly in summer.
Le Panorama Rooftop operates seasonally. The current dining page lists its summer season through 15 September, so availability should be checked before arrival.
Palais Stéphanie Beach offers international and Japanese dishes across the road. Beach access, loungers and dining may involve separate charges.
