Black Tap Dubai Review | Burgers, CrazyShakes and Current Locations

Updated September 2026: the reviewed Al Naseem branch is no longer listed by Black Tap. Current Dubai locations and menu prices are included below.

Black Tap became famous for towering CrazyShake milkshakes, but the burgers are the better reason to visit. Our original experience was at the Jumeirah Al Naseem branch. It combined a polished American diner feel with large portions, indulgent sides and a menu designed for groups.

Black Tap Dubai review

The brand started in New York and built its identity around griddled burgers, shakes and loud visual presentation. At the original Dubai visit, the appeal was clear. Burgers felt substantial, fries came in generous portions and the shakes turned dessert into the main event.

Black Tap also offered more range than its social media image suggested. Burgers were the focus, but salads and fried chicken made it easier for a mixed group to order.

Important location update

The Al Naseem restaurant covered in this review is no longer shown on the official location list. Black Tap currently lists two Dubai branches:

  • Dubai Mall: Lower ground floor at the Fountain Entrance. Open daily from 12 pm to 12 am. Telephone 04 330 5103.
  • Rixos Premium JBR: The Walk at JBR. Open daily from 12 pm to 12 am. Telephone 04 399 9076.

Check the official Black Tap locations page before travelling. The Dubai Mall branch has outdoor seating opposite the fountains, which gives it a very different setting from the former hotel location.

What stands out

  • Big burgers: The official menu says its beef patties weigh 200 grams.
  • CrazyShake desserts: These are built for sharing and presentation as much as flavour.
  • Useful choice: The current menu includes beef, chicken and vegan burger options.
  • Group appeal: Burgers, wings, salads and shakes cover several dining moods.
  • Generous format: This is not a light meal, so ordering with a plan helps.

Current prices and value

At the Dubai Mall branch, the current official menu lists the All American Burger at AED 49. The Truffle Burger is AED 90. Fries, sweet potato fries or a house salad cost AED 25 extra with a burger.

CrazyShake milkshakes are AED 65, while classic shakes are AED 35. Prices can change, so use the official Dubai Mall menu for the latest figures.

Value depends on how you order. A burger with fries and a CrazyShake can quickly become an expensive and very heavy meal. Sharing one shake between two people makes more sense for many diners.

If you prefer a more focused smash burger, compare it with our Manna Burger Dubai review. For another casual beachfront option, our Salt Kite Beach review covers sliders in a very different setting.

Things to note

  • The Al Naseem branch from our original visit is not on the current official list.
  • Fries are now priced separately from burgers at Dubai Mall.
  • A CrazyShake can work as a shared dessert rather than an individual drink.
  • Weekend and fountain view tables can be busy, so allow extra time.
  • Check branch specific menus because prices and items may differ.

The Brief Review verdict

Black Tap remains a fun choice for an indulgent burger meal in Dubai. The original Al Naseem setting has gone, but the core formula continues at Dubai Mall and JBR. Come for the burger first, then add a shake if you have room. For value, sharing sides and dessert is the smartest approach.
