Updated September 2026: location and contact details have been checked against current official listings.

Yamanote Atelier brings Japanese baking to Dubai Mall with playful pastries, savoury buns and cafe drinks. The display is colourful, but the concept remains simple. Take a tray, choose what looks good, then bring it to the counter for packing or dining in.

On our visit, the cheese croissants were the standout. They were rich, soft and easy to share. The soft serve was another pleasant surprise in a mall with no shortage of dessert choices.

Yamanote Atelier Dubai Mall review

This is a useful stop when you want something lighter and more portable than a full restaurant meal. The bakery format also makes it easy to build a mixed box for family, friends or the journey home.

Many items combine familiar European baking with Japanese flavours and presentation. That makes Yamanote approachable even if you do not know Japanese bakery classics. It is also a good companion to our review of TONTON Bakes and its French Japanese pastries.

What we liked

  • Cheese croissants: These were the highlight of our visit and remain the first item we would look for.
  • Easy self service format: You can see the products before choosing and create your own mixed box.
  • Gift friendly packaging: The pastries work well as an easy food gift or something to bring home.
  • Soft serve: It was a hidden treat and a good alternative to the busier dessert counters nearby.
  • Central mall location: The branch is convenient during a Dubai Mall visit.

Current location and practical details

  • Location: The official Yamanote site lists Dubai Mall, ground floor, next to the Star Atrium.
  • Telephone: 800 YAMANOTE, or 800 92626683.
  • Website: Yamanote Atelier official website.
  • Format: Japanese bakery and cafe with pastries, desserts, savoury food and drinks.

One detail needs care. The Yamanote website calls this the ground floor, while the Dubai Mall directory describes it as lower ground. Use the live mall directory when you arrive, since store positions and floor labels can change.

Value and what to order

Yamanote works best when you mix a few bakery items rather than treating it as a formal meal. Start with a savoury pastry, then add one sweet item or soft serve. This gives you a better sense of the range.

During our earlier visit, the Dubai Mall and Jumeirah branches offered large end of day pastry bundles near closing. That promotion is not shown as a permanent offer today. Ask staff whether any closing time bundle is available before relying on it.

Things to note

  • The display changes during the day as products sell.
  • Go earlier if you want the widest pastry choice.
  • Ask about allergens because fillings are not always obvious from appearance.
  • Confirm current hours on the official site or Dubai Mall directory before a special trip.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Yamanote Atelier in Dubai Mall?

The brand currently lists the branch on the ground floor next to the Star Atrium. The mall directory uses lower ground, so check the live directory on arrival.

Is Yamanote Atelier good for takeaway?

Yes. The tray format and boxed pastries make takeaway one of the easiest ways to use the cafe.

What should you try first?

Our first choice would be the cheese croissant. Add a sweet pastry or soft serve if you want a broader taste of the menu.

Are end of day discounts guaranteed?

No. We saw strong closing time bundle offers during our earlier visit, but they are not listed as a standing promotion.

The Brief Review verdict

Yamanote Atelier is a practical and enjoyable Dubai Mall stop. The pastries are creative without being difficult, while the self service format keeps the visit quick. The cheese croissants and soft serve were our highlights. It is especially useful when you want a mixed box to share or take home.
