La Serre Dubai Review | Breakfast at City Walk

French cafe and bakery with light meals and excellent quality ingredients

Updated September 2026: La Serre has moved from Vida Downtown to City Walk. Current contact details, hours and pricing are included below.

La Serre built its reputation around a Parisian style boulangerie downstairs and a more formal restaurant upstairs. Our original visit took place at Vida Downtown. Breakfast was the strongest reason to go, especially the eggs Benedict with wagyu beef.

The setting has changed, but the concept still centres on French bread, pastries and all day dining. The current La Serre is in the licensed district at City Walk 2.

La Serre Dubai review

At the original Downtown restaurant, the ground floor boulangerie felt relaxed and easy. The upper floor offered a more formal dining experience. That split made La Serre useful for several occasions, from a quick coffee to a longer meal.

Our favourite dish was the wagyu eggs Benedict. Other versions included spinach and salmon. The restaurant was popular with Downtown residents and became especially busy on weekends.

What we liked

  • Strong breakfast identity: La Serre worked best as a polished morning destination.
  • French bakery focus: Bread and pastries gave the concept a clear point of difference.
  • Flexible setting: It could suit coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner.
  • Memorable eggs Benedict: The wagyu version was the standout from our visit.
  • Neighbourhood appeal: The old location attracted both hotel guests and local residents.

Current location and hours

  • Address: La Serre, City Walk 2, C2 Licensed District, Dubai, UAE.
  • Hours: Monday to Wednesday and Sunday, 8 am to 12 midnight. Thursday to Saturday, 8 am to 2 am.
  • Telephone: 04 320 2201 or 052 377 3100.

The old Vida Hotel Downtown address and telephone number in this article were no longer current. Anyone returning after an earlier visit should plan for City Walk rather than Downtown.

Breakfast and current value

The official site still highlights warm croissants, pain au chocolat, bread and breakfast dishes. It also lists a breakfast sharing menu at AED 155 per person. That gives a useful price reference, although individual dishes can change.

La Serre now operates from morning into late evening. The venue moves from bakery and cafe energy during the day to a more polished restaurant atmosphere at night.

The Brief Review verdict

La Serre was one of Downtown Dubai’s more polished breakfast options, and the wagyu eggs Benedict left the strongest impression. The move to City Walk changes the practical details, but the French bakery identity remains. Visit for breakfast or pastries, and confirm the latest menu if you want a specific favourite from the old location.
