London Marriott Marble Arch Video Tour

The video below records the hotel and room during the original stay, before the latest renovation.

Location and Transport

The hotel is on George Street in Marylebone. Marble Arch, Hyde Park and Oxford Street are within walking distance. Edgware Road, Marble Arch and Paddington provide useful Underground and rail connections.

The immediate streets can feel busy, but the hotel is slightly removed from the busiest Oxford Street pavements. London is also easy to explore on foot from here. Allow extra time when crossing central London during rush hour.

On site parking is currently listed at £25 per day. The hotel sits inside London’s Congestion Charge Zone. Pets are not allowed, although service animals are accepted.

The Stay Experience

Rooms and the Original Stay

The room photographed during the original visit had a comfortable bed, a desk, a chair and a city outlook. Water, glassware, a kettle and hot drink supplies were provided. Storage was straightforward, and the workspace was useful.

The bathroom had a bath with an overhead shower, a wide mirror and separate toiletries. Marriott now describes the property as fully renovated. The photographs below therefore show the earlier design rather than the current room finish.

Breakfast at The Pickled Hen

The original breakfast included fruit, pastries, breads, cold cuts, smoked salmon, porridge toppings and hot dishes. The display also included a pancake machine and a small gluten free section. These photographs document that visit, not a guaranteed current buffet.

The Pickled Hen remains the hotel’s main restaurant. Breakfast is currently listed from 6:30 am to 10:30 am on weekdays and 7 am to 11 am at weekends. The restaurant itself is open daily from 11 am to 10:30 pm. Check the official dining page for the latest service times.

Executive Lounge and Fitness Centre

During the original stay, eligible guests used a lounge offering inside The Pickled Hen. It provided coffee, tea and water during the day, followed by evening drinks and snacks.

Marriott still describes the permanent Executive Lounge as coming soon. The temporary offering remains in The Pickled Hen, with breakfast and refreshments advertised from 6 am to 11 pm. Access is listed for eligible Marriott Bonvoy members and Executive room guests. Confirm the exact venue and benefits before arrival.

The former pool is no longer promoted in the hotel’s current facilities. Instead, Marriott highlights a new 24 hour Technogym fitness centre with a separate wellness studio. Guests booking for a pool should choose another property.

What Stood Out

  • Central location: Hyde Park, Oxford Street and several transport options are close by.
  • Comfortable original room: The room offered useful space for both rest and work.
  • Broad breakfast choice: The buffet covered hot, cold and dietary options during the visit.
  • Useful lounge service: The temporary setup added value for eligible guests.
  • New fitness facilities: The current 24 hour gym replaces the outdated pool information.

Things to Note

  • The room and bathroom photographs predate the hotel’s latest renovation.
  • The permanent Executive Lounge is still advertised as coming soon.
  • The hotel no longer promotes an indoor pool.
  • The lobby felt compact and busy during the original stay.
  • Parking and the Congestion Charge add to the total cost of driving into central London.

Practical Tips

Quick Booking Checklist

  1. Check whether the renovated room type matches your needs.
  2. Confirm the current Executive Lounge location and access rules.
  3. Review whether breakfast is included in the booked rate.
  4. Add parking and the Congestion Charge when comparing prices.
  5. Use public transport if a central London car is unnecessary.

The Brief Review Verdict

London Marriott Hotel Marble Arch works best for travellers who want a central base with straightforward access to Hyde Park, Oxford Street and Paddington. The original stay delivered a comfortable room, a varied breakfast and useful elite refreshments. The current renovation and new gym improve the proposition, but guests should verify the temporary lounge arrangements and should not expect a pool.
