Aloft Dubai Creek combines a youthful hotel style with direct access to City Centre Deira. The location is useful for Dubai International Airport, the metro and the older parts of Dubai.
We stayed when the property was still known as Aloft City Centre Deira. It was renamed Aloft Dubai Creek in 2021. This review preserves the original room and service experience while explaining what guests can expect now.

Arrival and mall access
The hotel connects to City Centre Deira, which makes shopping and meals easy during hot weather. The lobby is on the second floor, beside the main restaurant and a large social space.
Dubai International Airport is close, but travel time still depends on traffic and the terminal. City Centre Deira Metro Station provides a useful alternative for exploring the city.
Marriott’s current overview mentions scheduled transport to DXB Terminal 3. Its transport section says the hotel does not provide an airport shuttle. Confirm the latest arrangement directly before relying on it.
Our Savvy room
We received an upgrade to a Savvy room, which was larger than the standard category. The entrance placed the bathroom and wardrobe to the left before opening into the bedroom.
The bathroom followed Aloft’s clean, simple design. Storage was practical, and the layout made sensible use of the available space.
Our room had Aloft Bliss amenities. Some Savvy rooms include a bathtub, while others use a walk in shower, so guests with a preference should ask before arrival.
Bedroom and practical features
The bedroom continued the minimalist approach. Our room had complimentary water and a connecting door, which could be useful for a family booking.
A hygiene kit with a mask and gloves was provided during our 2020 visit. This was a temporary pandemic measure, not a current hotel feature.
Current room descriptions list Aloft signature beds, walk in showers, 49 inch televisions and connectivity features. Exact bathroom layouts still vary by room type.
Creek views, pool and gym
The common areas felt more polished than we expected from an Aloft. The gym had a lively design and enough equipment for a useful hotel workout.
Re:charge is now listed as open 24 hours. The hotel also has an outdoor pool called Splash and the Dreamworks Spa.
Our morning view included Dubai Creek, the golf course and the city skyline. A Creek facing room gives the hotel much more character than a purely urban outlook.
Breakfast and restaurants
The Canteen was a highlight during our stay. Ingredient quality and attentive service were stronger than we expected from a select service hotel.
The restaurant is now branded The Canteen Bowl and Co. Marriott lists it as open daily from 6:30 am until midnight. A breakfast buffet is currently advertised at AED 55 from 6:30 am to 11 am.
Other choices include Refuel by Aloft for quick food, Han Shi Fu for Chinese and Asian cooking, and W XYZ Bar. Read our separate The Canteen restaurant review for the original food experience.
Location and transport
The connection to City Centre Deira is the main practical advantage. Guests can reach shops, restaurants, a supermarket and the metro without arranging a car.
The hotel is also a useful base for Dubai Creek, the Gold Souk, Al Seef and airport stopovers. It is less convenient for beach days or repeated trips to Dubai Marina.
