W Verbier Review | Ski Hotel, Rooms and Spa

Updated October 2026.

W Verbier is a luxury alpine hotel beside the Médran lift, with direct access to Verbier’s extensive ski area. Its 123 rooms and suites combine contemporary W styling with fireplaces, balconies and Swiss design cues. The hotel also offers a large spa, indoor and outdoor pools, dining and ski services.

W Verbier at a glance

  • Location: Beside the Médran lift in Verbier
  • Rooms and suites: 123
  • Check in: 4pm
  • Check out: 11am
  • Parking: Valet and on site parking are chargeable
  • Pets: One pet up to 18 kilograms is accepted for a fee
  • Nearest listed airport: Sion, about 55 kilometres away

Location and ski access

The hotel sits only steps from the Médran lift. Ski hire, restaurants and village shops are nearby, while equipment rental is also available on site. The position is the hotel’s clearest advantage for a winter break.

W describes the property as offering ski in and ski out access to more than 400 kilometres of terrain. Conditions and lift operation remain weather dependent. Travellers comparing the brand in a different setting can read our W Doha review.

Rooms and design

The Mega Family Room visited blended modern alpine design with bold red accents, art and playful objects. A built in fireplace and private balcony added a strong sense of place. The room also included refillable glass water bottles and a safe.

The layout was practical for a family, although the open bathroom arrangement may not suit everyone. Mountain views were a major part of the appeal.

Breakfast and dining

Breakfast featured Swiss classics alongside an extensive international buffet. Gruyère, cold cuts, pretzels, yoghurt and fresh orange juice stood out. Waffles, pancakes, pastries and hot dishes added plenty of variety.

Current dining includes Brasserie 1519, the W Living Room and seasonal U Yama. The hotel also advertises 24 hour room service. Breakfast is currently listed from 7am to 11am, but seasonal opening hours can change.

During the original visit, cocktails were around CHF 25 and main courses around CHF 35. Those prices are historical and should not be used as a current menu guide.

Spa, pool and fitness

The 1,300 square metre spa includes nine treatment rooms, a hammam, jacuzzi and steam facilities. Indoor and outdoor pools create a striking year round wellness area. The fitness centre is well equipped for both cardio and strength training.

Transport and parking

Paid parking and valet service are available. Electric vehicle charging is also listed for a fee. The hotel publishes airport shuttle options for Geneva and Milan Malpensa, while Sion is the closest listed airport.

A local shuttle operated during the original stay, but its current hours are not clearly published. Confirm local transport and airport transfer prices directly before arrival.

Highlights

  • Steps from the Médran lift
  • Fireplaces and private balconies in every room
  • Excellent Swiss and international breakfast selection
  • Large spa with indoor and outdoor pools
  • Distinctive modern alpine design

Things to note

  • Parking, electric charging and pets attract additional fees.
  • Seasonal restaurants may not operate throughout the year.
  • Open bathroom layouts may offer limited privacy.
  • Ski access depends on weather and lift operation.

Before booking

Confirm lift conditions, restaurant openings, shuttle arrangements and all additional fees. Room categories vary, so check the bed configuration and bathroom layout. For more destination ideas, see our Marriott hotel guide.
