Café Kitsuné Palais Royal Review | Coffee in Paris

Updated September 2026: official hours, contact details and current practical information have been added.

Café Kitsuné Palais Royal pairs coffee with one of central Paris’s most attractive settings. The cafe sits beneath the arcades of Galerie de Montpensier, beside the Palais Royal gardens.

Our favourite order was the iced mocha. The menu board also featured matcha, chai, flat whites and cookies. Branded cups and small merchandise displays made the stop feel connected to the wider Maison Kitsuné world.

Café Kitsuné Palais Royal review

The cafe itself is compact, so the location does much of the work. Order a drink, then walk through the arcades or find a place in the garden. That makes it an easy pause between the Louvre, Rue Saint Honoré and the surrounding shops.

The atmosphere is stylish without requiring a long visit. It works especially well for takeaway coffee and photographs around the Palais Royal.

What we liked

  • Iced mocha: This was our favourite drink from the visit.
  • Palais Royal setting: Few coffee stops have such an attractive immediate neighbourhood.
  • Takeaway format: Drinks are easy to carry into the gardens.
  • Clear brand identity: Cups, merchandise and design all feel considered.
  • Useful drink range: Coffee, matcha and other cafe classics suit different tastes.

Value and what to order

The strongest value comes from combining the drink with the setting. You are paying for a central Paris coffee, but the gardens and arcades turn it into a more complete stop.

Start with a flat white if coffee quality matters most. Matcha is another core choice. Our iced mocha remains the more indulgent recommendation, while a cookie makes an easy addition.

Things to note

  • The original Palais Royal cafe is small.
  • Outdoor seating and garden space can be weather dependent.
  • This is better for a short stop than a long work session.
  • Arrive early for calmer photographs around the arcades.
  • Use the correct place name Palais Royal, not Palais Royale.
