Sanguich has built a strong Miami following by treating the Cuban sandwich as a carefully made product rather than basic fast food. We visited the Little Haiti branch, a compact takeout window at 6500 NE 2nd Avenue, and ordered the signature El Cubano.
This Sanguich Miami review covers the Little Haiti ordering experience, current menu, photographed price, ingredients, value and practical details. It also explains how this branch differs from the better known Calle Ocho location.

The Little Haiti Location
The Little Haiti branch is designed for collection rather than a long meal. Customers follow the side path to a walk up window marked for ordering and pickup.
There is no dining room at this location. The official Sanguich website describes it as takeout only, so plan to eat elsewhere or in your car. This makes it convenient for a quick stop, but it is not the branch to choose for atmosphere.
The window carries the playful name “La Ventanita de los Parados.” The setup draws on Miami’s ventanita culture, where Cuban coffee and quick food are served through small street facing windows.
What Makes Sanguich Different
Sanguich was founded by Miami locals Daniel Figueredo and Rosa Romero. The brand now has locations in Calle Ocho, Little Haiti, Coral Gables, Bayside Marketplace and Aventura Mall.
The official website highlights a Michelin Bib Gourmand run from 2022 through 2026. Sanguich places unusual attention on the individual components of each sandwich.
El Cubano combines city ham, garlic confit pork, mustard, Swiss cheese and house pickles. It is served on Cuban bread made without preservatives. The ham, pork, mustard and pickles are prepared specifically for the restaurant.
The Menu
The printed menu at Little Haiti keeps the focus on pressed Cuban sandwiches. El Cubano is the natural first order, but there are several alternatives.
- Media Noche: Similar fillings to El Cubano on softer, slightly sweet media noche bread
- Croqueta Preparada: A Cubano style sandwich with two ham croquettes added
- Pan con Lechón: Shredded garlic confit pork, garlic aioli and pickled red onions
- Pan con Bistec: Sliced beef, mojo rojo, fried potatoes and Swiss cheese
- Sanguich de Miami: Turkey, bacon, tomato, Swiss cheese and lettuce
Sides include ham croquettes, fries, sweet potato fries, pork rinds and Cuban nachos. Coffee and milkshakes are also available.
El Cubano
Our order arrived in a branded paper bag and box. The sandwich was wrapped, labelled and cut into two substantial halves.
The bread had a dark, even toast from the press. Inside, the ham and garlic confit pork were layered with melted Swiss cheese. Mustard and pickles completed the traditional Miami style combination.
The preparation looked careful rather than rushed. Meat reached the full length of the bread, while the cheese melted through the filling. The sandwich was easy to divide or share, although one full order works as a complete meal.
Garlic is part of the flavour profile because it is used in the pork. However, El Cubano does not include the additional garlic aioli found in the Pan con Lechón.
Price and Value
The Little Haiti paper menu listed El Cubano at $13.99 before tax during our visit. Prices can differ by branch and ordering platform.
This costs more than a basic Cuban sandwich from a traditional cafeteria. The difference is visible in the house prepared ingredients, careful layering and substantial portion.
For value, Little Haiti works best when you want the sandwich itself and do not need table service. Customers seeking a fuller restaurant experience may prefer Calle Ocho or Coral Gables.

The Brief Review Verdict
Sanguich gives El Cubano the attention normally associated with a more elaborate meal. The sandwich looks simple, but the house prepared ingredients and careful assembly are the point.
The Little Haiti branch is best for a focused takeout visit. It lacks the atmosphere of a full restaurant, yet the walk up window makes collection straightforward.
El Cubano is the right first order. Choose another branch if seating matters, but choose Little Haiti when convenience and the sandwich itself are the priorities.
