Review of Sheraton Nice Airport – Highlights

The hotel is steps away from Nice Cote D’Azure International Airport. In fact many guests simply walk across the street (bearing in mind it is a 15-20 min walk). This makes the hotel a convenient location for those who need to stay close by to the airport or as a hub as with a car you are on the A8 highway in less than 5 minutes. To get into Nice old town or the center of the city is about a 45 minute walk along the corniche, which starts on the other side of the street or a 10 minute car ride.
Aviation geeks will also love the hotel for its impressive sky bar and roof top pool. With sun chairs overlooking the Nice Airport terminal 1 and 2, you can watch planes taking off and landing. On the opposite end of the pool are large sun bed, ideal for families with kids and plenty of chairs to sit and grab a bite from the sky bar.
Upon entering the hotel you are greeted with reception desks and an all day dining restaurant on your right. There is also a staircase going up to the mezzanine level which has a business center with 3 separate work stations for calls with plenty of plugs, as well as an executive club lounge for Marriott Bonvoy elite members.
The executive club lounge at the hotel is a great place to work and has snacks and beverages available throughout the day. In the morning there is a continental breakfast (a lighter version of what is available in the ground floor all day dining) with fruits, yogurts and cold cuts as well as a self service Nespresso machine and juices. During the day there are fruits, granola bars and chocolates as well as drinks. In the evening at 6:30pm light snacks such as mini pizza and wines are brought out for guests to enjoy.
The rooms are well designed, with all the standard Sheraton touches, including separate seating areas which acts as an ideal work station in the rooms. One major plus is the complimentary water in the rooms is generous at a full liter bottle of Italian Aqua Panna, which is very high quality mineral water.

Review of Sheraton Nice Airport – Things to Note

Being an airport hotel, if there is a canceled flight the hotel can get quite busy due to a large number of check in’s due to the passengers, however typically this is just for a short term, at maximum one night.
The pool menu at the sky bar is quite limited to just 4 menu items: chicken wrap, poke bowl, burger and another salad.
There is not much around the hotel in terms of restaurants or food options, as the surrounding properties are other airport hotels or offices. That being said, the Cap3000 mall is just a 10 minute drive from the hotel and mostly services the hotel via Uber Eats or Deliveroo as well.

As a Marriott elite member you can choose either 1,000 welcome points, daily breakfast or a welcome amenity. Ask for a room on a high floor (there are only 5) facing the airport, the views are stunning overlooking the ocean and the chance to watch the planes land and take off from the comfort of your room is fun!

Review of Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort – Highlights

A true resort in every sense, you can easily spend your entire vacation on the property, between the spa, gym, restaurants, beach, pool and other activities on the property.
The check in process was very quick and smooth at one of three check in desks in the large lobby, which also has a lobby lounge and cafe.
During our stay in February 2021 the club lounge was closed however the hotel offered lounge amenities in the hotels lobby cafe: coffee, tea and soft beverages offered all day as well as a traditional tea set up and pre dinner snacks in the evening.
The rooms are large and spacious, especially the club rooms which have their own separate living room section and large ample bathrooms with shower and bathtubs. The decor in the rooms are standard to the Sheraton brand and everything is well maintained on property.
Breakfast during Covid 19 requires guests to use disposable gloves at the buffet, which is a mix of self service and assisted service at the different stations. The hotel provides a full range of breakfast items, from pastries, cereals, cold cuts, hot stations, as well as pancake, waffle and egg stations.
The beach at the hotel is private with an empty plot on the left side and another resort on the right. There is also a man made lagoon to guard against large waves so the beach itself and water is quite calm up to 15 meters into the ocean.

Review of Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort – Things to Note

The property is very big and it can take a while to learn where everything is on the property. Especially the rooms are spread across different wings.
You are provided a red towel card on check in which you can use to redeem for a towel at the pool. Guests are responsible to return the towels when finished at the pool or beach to get back their towel cards, which are to be returned at check out.

Review of Sheraton Grand Hotel Dubai – Commentary

The Sheraton Grand is located in the heart of Dubai just opposite the financial center and the trade center so it is very convenient for business travelers. The hotel itself is split into part hotel apartments and the rest regular hotel rooms.

The check in process was very smooth and quick. During Covid guests are asked to self park in the buildings basement. As a Marriott Bonvoy elite we were upgraded to an executive suite on the club lounge level.

Upon entering the suite you are greeted by a large opening to a living room and dining area in the front. The decor is very masculine with dark wood and tope accents.

To the left when you enter the suite there is a guest bathroom.

On the right side there is a commode with full bar and coffee machine and tea for easy access.

It is interesting to note there were eco friendly coffee pods in the hotel. This was a first for us as we were used to the standard nespresso capsules.

The living room is very cozy and provides ample space for entertaining. The view to outdoors is mainly to the building and highway below.

The living room leads into the bedroom, which follows the same design with another flat screen tv welcoming you as you enter. There is a small desk under the tv as well.

The bathroom in this suite is truly stunning. Particularly that it opens up into the room to give the illusion of extra space but also for the wood paneling and design – very modern.

There is a full bathtub, twin sinks as well as separate toilet and walk in shower. The bathroom is as well stocked with all amenities you could need.

As Marriott Bonvoy elite members we were given lounge access which served both tea and happy hour. The below is a selection of sandwiches and scones from the high tea.

Breakfast is served in the mornings at the all day dining outlet and features a full buffet – though it is important to note it was not self service but with assistance at each station.

This is a truly magnificent hotel with excellent service. The pool on the roof top has lounge vibes with music pumping and the lounge chairs are all double width to easily accommodate two persons.

Review of Sheraton Mall of Emirates – Commentary

The Sheraton Mall of the Emirates hotel is located inside the Mall of the Emirates, as the name suggests. There are two options either valet parking on the ground floor or self parking inside the mall, the hotel has its own dedicated parking for guests.

The check in is on the 5th floor which also has a lobby lounge and their all day dining restaurant. As a Marriott Bonvoy elite member we were upgraded to a deluxe suite. Upon entering the room there is a coffee machine to your right and entrance to the closet and access to the bathroom to your left.

Moving straight ahead you are brought into the suite living room, which is spacious containing a sofa, desk and TV.

The living room felt a bit bare but we assume this is due to Covid that most of the collaterals and magazines had been removed.

Following through the sliding doors you enter the bedroom of the suite which has direct access to the bathroom as well as views over Downtown Dubai.

The bathroom itself is also very large with separate toilet, walk in shower and bathtub. The bathtub has a clear glass divider facing the bedroom.

A close up on the bathroom in the suite gives it a spa like feeling.

When you draw the curtains in the morning you are greeted to a stunning view of Dubai. In the far background is Downtown Dubai and in the foreground is Al Quoz.

The executive lounge in the hotel was closed so as an alternative the hotel offered happy hour and snacks complimentary inside their all day dining restaurant. There was a selection of light snacks and beverages available.

Overall excellent hotel if you want to be connected to the mall for easy access to shopping.

A landmark hotel on Dubai Creek, the Sheraton hotel offers unparalleled views of the Dubai skyline and history of Dubai.

Review of Sheraton Dubai Creek – Commentary

The check in at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel was relatively smooth and during Covid at the hotel there is no valet available only self park, which is sometimes more convenient. As a Bonvoy elite member we were upgraded to a club floor room, though standard not a suite as none were available.

The standard rooms are very spacious and have lots of connectivity and outlets for all your devices.

As with other properties during Covid all magazines or collaterals were removed from the rooms and replaced with a disposable paper menu for in room dining.

The views from the hotel are spectacular overlooking the creek. You can see old Dubai and new in one view.

The best part is watching the old wooden dhows cross from one side of the creek to the other. There is even a service where you can pay 1 aed (approx 30 cents US) to cross.

The bathrooms are the highlight of the room as they are well appointed and spacious. There is both a walk in shower and bathtub with plenty of amenties.

The bathtub is also tasteful and well designed – in fact would not be surprised if it was renovated recently.

As Bonvoy elite members we were given access to the executive club lounge, though not in the usual place it was currently moved to their all day dining restaurant which also has amazing view of the creek. This time from a closer lower angle. You can see Burj Khalifa in the background on the left side.

For tea time there were a selection of sweets offered. It was not buffet style as would be the norm but served to your table.

Along with tea and a selection of sandwiches, the options of which change daily.

There is also a small pool and gym on property. The gym is pictured below.

Overall very pleasant property with good service levels. It is in an older part of Dubai so great if you want to explore the older side or want quick access to the airport for a morning flight.
