• The hotel is located in China Town, next to the Maxwell MRT station and just 25 minutes from the Changi International Airport. The hotel is unassuming and one might miss it on first pass, as the entrance is tucked into the side of a small street.
• On entering the 130 room boutique colonial style hotel designed by French architect Frank Garcia, you are immediately surrounded by a unique property, previously the Six Senses Hotel Singapore, certainly not cookie cutter from the Marriott portfolio and deserving of the Autograph Collection tag. The team are helpful to get you checked in and explain the features and services within the property.
• There is a 25 meter outdoor pool and gym on the 2nd floor as well as lobby lounge and restaurant on the ground floor, which doubles as the hotels Bonvoy elite club lounge. If you are a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member a continental breakfast is served in the lobby restaurant, where you can select one of the main courses (they are light breakfast options) as well as any of the freshly squeeze cold press juices (these are a highlight an sold normally at 20$ a bottle). In the afternoons a light snack is offered with coffee, tea or juices and for pre-dinner snacks are also offered from a a la carte selection with a choice of cocktails and alcoholic beverages.
• The rooms are well appointed with careful details such as the expansive in room mini bar with a huge selection of spirits, mixers and cocktail equipment and glassware on hand. There is a small but working desk in room as well another small but functional seating and lounge area in the suite opposite the bathroom.

• The rooms in the hotel are quite compact. We were upgraded to their second highest suite category and the bed itself took up almost the entire room. However the bathroom’s were very generously sized.
• The pool is a great feature especially during the hotter more humid months in Singapore however it is really suited for one or two people doing laps otherwise more of a plunge pool to escape the heat.

Shanghai Me Dubai Review

For soup the options are miso with mushrooms, spring onions and tofu soup, chicken and sweetcorn soup or sweetcorn soup (which is vegetarian). I chose the sweet corn soup.

There are loads of great appetizer choices from chicken and prawn nems (spring rolls) to peking duck corn shells. I went with the tomato and aubergine (eggplant) salad. The eggplant was crunchy and glazed with a sweet finish on your palate.

You will keep coming back to Shanghai Me in Dubai for the mains to try them all, for the lunch set menu there are 7 options from wok Szechuan beef with seasonal vegetables, stir fried vegetarian soy noodles, barbecued chicken with pickled cucumbers. I had the grilled salmon steak with teriyaki sauce.

Overall an amazing spot in DIFC for lunch, dinner or even drinks with friends. Shanghai Me Dubai is a full addition to the dining scene.

• The moment you step into Terra Eatery you are filled with exotic sensations as if you are entering the jungle or some lush garden destination. In fact the restaurant was conceived with Mediterranean inspiration which juxtaposes its actual location which is in a low rise strip mall in Jumeirah next to a Waitrose supermarket
• The vibe inside as well the platting and atmosphere reminds you of DIFC, but it is not, and therefore does not have alcohol on the menu. The focus is very much on the interiors and the food, though the mocktails are a must have (see below).
• Diners have the option of both indoor or outdoor seating with a small terrace on the right side of the restaurant. Interestingly, the tables and seating arrangements feel very secluded and private, together with the plants and large leafs separating the tables, as well as spacing (for social distancing no doubt) give you a very private dining feeling. This is similarly extended to the outdoors.
• The baked seabass (pictured below) as perfectly cooked and super soft, which was paired with crunchy zucchini and sweet tomatoes. Likewise the lentil salad was light and a favorite of the table.

• This is a dry restaurant which means no alcohol on the menu.
• The bugs and mosquitos can be a nuisance if you are sitting outdoors, so preferably a table indoors in the corner is the one to choose.
