Review of Element Hotel Al Mina – Highlights

• The third Element hotel in Dubai (see review of the other Element hotels in Dubai here) is ideally situated for anyone wanting to be close to Downtown Dubai or Bur Dubai, it is also a short drive away from the port terminal and Dubai Airport.
• Upon arrival at the hotel there is self parking in the basement. Check in (as of June 2021) is at the sister Aloft property, click here for separate review. The lobby of the Element is elegantly designed and feels more high end than the Aloft which has a younger vibe. The Element decor is understated and earthy with comfortable seating and an eco-friendly atmosphere.
• As an apartment or longer stay hotel, the Element Al Mina is an all suite property with the smallest room being studio apartments, going all the way up to 2 bedroom units. Each apartment is furnished with everything you would need turn key, so from day one you can check in and be ready go to with internet, tv, fully fitted kitchen, washing machine, ironing board – the whole nine yards! It makes the Element a perfect hotel if you are planning to stay a little longer in Dubai or want to use the hotel as a hotel to stay before you plan to commit to your own apartment in the city.
• The beds in any of the rooms are super comfortable and soft – and will provide you with a well rested sleep – and the best part of these hotel apartments it the daily housekeeping so each day the team will refresh the room, make the bed and every third day the linens are completely changed for new ones.
• Breakfast is included complimentary for all room rates at the Element hotel and is available from 7am to 11am in the lobby. The selection is more of a light continental grab and go with cereals, yogurt, whole fruits, hot beverages and juices.
• The infinity roof top pool is a great way to unwind and relax at at the hotel and provides amazing views of the Burj Khalifa and Union House flag. There are fun pool floats available on a first come first serve basis as well as semi private in pool loungers so you can catch some rays of sun while slightly submerged in the water – the best part is that they have jetties behind that can be activated to give you a massage at the same time!
• In addition to the pool on the HC, health club floor at the Aloft there is also a spa (run by a 3rd party) as well as a full gym furnished with Precor equipment.

Review of Element Al Mina – Things to Note

• The Element Al Mina hotel is on the same property as the Aloft Al Mina, click here for review. While they have separate entrances and lobbies they share some of the same common areas such as pool, gym and basement parking. As of June 2021 (the same year as the hotel opened) guests are directed to the Aloft hotel for check in. There was also no staff in the ground floor / lobby during our stay at the hotel.
• There is not much around the hotel in terms of walking distance so you would need to take a taxi or car if you wanted leave the property and explore the rest of the city.
• In the studio kitchenette there seems to be less crockery than usual or other Element properties we have stayed in. The fridge was very small akin to a mini bar style vs a standard floor standing fridge. It is fine for short stays but if one is planning to stay longer and cook or keep fresh foods this might be a concern and reason look at a one bedroom suite instead of a studio room.

Review of Element Al Mina – Tips

• There are plenty of benefits for Marriott Bonvoy members from upgrades, early check in, late check out, free high speed internet and more. As a Marriott elite member you can choose either 500 welcome points or a welcome amenity. If you are staying more than one night, the best value would be the free daily breakfast for two.
• The lobby has plenty of great co-working areas with power outlets to work if you need a larger open space. On the right of the lobby is their all day grab and go which double as the breakfast counter in the morning (breakfast is free and complimentary for all room rates), the area has lots of comfortable chairs and tables to work from.
• You can request any types of amenities you might need, even those not presented in your room at check in such as q-tips, disposable tooth brush or even additional small water bottles.

Review of Element Al Jaddaf

The Element hotel in Al Jaddaf is a modern sleek eco conscious long term stay hotel which opened in December 2020. The location is in Al Jaddaf near the Dubai creek and 15 minute drive to Dubai Mall, DIFC, Trade Center and Downtown.

The lobby acts a small lounge with a few seating options available and a breakfast hub on the right side. One point to mention regarding breakfast – which is included in all stays – is very simple European continental breakfast. Other hotels, including other Element properties in Dubai offer hot dishes, such as eggs and pancakes however the breakfast at the Element Al Jaddaf is pure continental: coffee, tea, non cut fruit (whole banana or apple) and selection of pastries or cereal.

When you enter the standard studio room, on your left is the bathroom and on the right side a full kitchenette.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one might require and probably more than you will need. It also include multiple appliances such as microwave, toaster, fridge and a washer dryer. To get an idea of how the drawers are stocked, see the photo below.

On the right side of the room is the washroom. The sink feels on the smaller side as it quite thin. There is a walk in shower on the other end with built in shampoo and body wash.

Now onto the room which has a very light and airy feel. The desk is large and provides an ample working area. Their signature bed are large and is the center piece of the studio. The hotel provides twice weekly full house keeping and daily refreshing as needed. The main benefit of living in a hotel such a long term stay like Element is that they replenish water and amenities on a daily basis or as needed.

There are two closets, the one pictured below is for hanging and has an ironing board, iron, robe and stand to keep your suitcase if needed.

To highlight the eco friendly vibe of the hotel you just need to walk out to the elevators on the floor and see the moss green that has been installed in the hallways. Adds a nice fresh green feel.

The gym is very well equipped to high standard and has stunning views of the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai. In addition to the gym there is also a pool on the top floor or as they call it in the hotel: HC, health club floor.

One additional fun fact is that the hotel is pet friendly so you can see some residents walking their dogs around the property.

On the ground floor is also a lap swimming pool, outdoor seating and adjoining modern but small gym.

Element Hotel Dubai Review

The rooms are all large with built in kitchens. I was upgraded to a superior studio, which are the same as the standard studios but slightly larger and include a full sofa, which doubles as a second bed. Below is the entrance when you come into the room.

On the left side of the room there is a desk and a large flat screen above you on the left most wall.

The view of the room from the desk and bed to give a good overview of the kitchenette. It has all the essentials, tableware, cutlery, plates as well as equipment such as electric stove top, microwave, toaster, kettle and of course a fridge and freezer.

The bed is large and comfy, it has another wireless phone on the night stand. The sheets are changed twice weekly.

The bathroom is on the left of the entrance, directly when you walk in. It is large and spacious with a walk in shower. Comes with all the standard amenities you need and a simple call down to reception in case you forgot anything.

Lastly a small welcome amenity is provided which is chocolates and fruit.
