• The tiny 80 room Aloft Seminyak is just 3 floors and located just 5 minutes walk to the beach in Seminyak right across the street from Canggu for easy access to most neighborhoods in the area by bike or car. The hotel is easily identified by the large Aloft sign outside and it is on the corner of the street.
• The lobby is simple but covers all the bases, there is a bar, lounge, pool table as well as always friendly 24/7 reception and concierge desk active. The rooms are spread over the 2nd and 3rd floors with the roof top housing the hotels infinity rooftop pool, all day dining restaurant and gym (with state of the art equipment).
• The rooms are modern and high tech with all the plugs (USB and multi adapter) you would need as well as sufficient storage spaces spread throughout the room. The key highlight is the large super comfortable king size bed as well as the cushioned headboard.
• The bathrooms are likewise well appointed with all the standard amenities as well daily complimentary bottled water to brush your teeth with. There is a full walk in shower with shampoo and body wash built in.
• The breakfast at the hotel is great quality for Aloft standard and the team is always there to assist with drink or egg orders. The selection rotates on a daily basis with a special shout out to the pastry section.

• Depending on the night, there can be live musicians with loud music at the roof top bar / restaurant, which can be heard at the rooms on the 3rd floor. Likewise noise from the road can be heard, assuming even more so from rooms on the 2nd floor.

Review of Aloft Hotel Al Mina – Highlights

• The fourth Aloft hotel in Dubai (see review of the other properties here) is ideally situated for any tourist coming to visit the UAE, as it is just 10 minutes drive from Downtown Dubai (such as the Dubai Mall), DIFC and just 15 minutes drive to old town Dubai with gold souq and spice souq.
• Upon arrival at the hotel there is self parking in the basement. The rest of the check in process is very quick and seamless. The whole vibe is very relaxed and welcoming, it is young, cool and laid back – just how Aloft should be!
• The lobby of the hotel features all the signature Aloft elements such as a grab and go counter next to the reception, an W XYZ bar and an all day dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also plenty of fun additions to the lobby such as a pool table, fussball table, and seating areas with coffee table books for guests to hang out in.
• Most of the rooms are of similar style and layout with the Aloft Al Mina having some local influences seen by the choice of the fabrics in the room, pictured below. All rooms are connected with high speed internet and have large flatscreen TVs which can be easily connected to your laptop or mobile device to stream videos from Netflix, Youtube or other media applications such as Spotify.
• The bathrooms in the hotel are very modern and all feature walk in rainfall showers. They are complete with all standard toiletries.
• The breakfast offered at the hotel is self service and features a full cold cut section with an open salad bar, cereal selection, cut and whole fruits, yogurts. As well as a hot section with scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, tomatoes, and sausages followed by a pastry and bakery items such as muffins and baguettes. At the back of the breakfast set up is an egg station where the chef can create eggs to order such as omlette or pancakes. Of particular highlight was the large selection of salad dressings, made in house fresh, from balsamic vinaigrette, honey mustard, to olive oil and lemon, let guests really customize their morning salad for those looking for healthier options!
• The infinity roof top pool is a great way to unwind and relax at at the hotel and provides amazing views of the Burj Khalifa and Union House flag. There are fun pool floats available on a first come first serve basis as well as semi private in pool loungers so you can catch some rays of sun while slightly submerged in the water – the best part is that they have jetties behind that can be activated to give you a massage at the same time!
• In addition to the pool on the HC, health club floor at the Aloft there is also a spa (run by a 3rd party) as well as a full gym furnished with Precor equipment.

Review of Aloft Al Mina – Things to Note

• The hotel is on the same property as the Element Al Mina, click here for review. While they have separate entrances and lobbies they share some of the same common areas such as pool, gym and basement parking.
• There is not much around the hotel in terms of walking distance so you would need to take a taxi or car if you wanted leave the property and explore the rest of the city.

• Ask for a room facing the Dubai skyline, it is worth it for the sunrise and sunset which offers full unobstructed views of the city. Likewise the union flag on the right side of the property is in full view. It is the second largest flag of the UAE in the country and is stunning to watch as it flaps with the wind.

• The hotel is located in a busy trending area of town with easy accessibility to the BTS metro system, tuk tuks and other forms of transit such as taxis and ride sharing. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the BTS Sky Train station. The location and value for money is one of the best benefits of the hotel.
• Keeping with the Aloft hotel brand the hotel is targeted toward a younger crowd with plenty of common areas such as pool table in the lobby, a grab and go store and a busy roof top pool and bar. The lobby is spacious and has plenty of seating areas.
• The room was stocked with all standard amenities including a coffee and tea machine. Overall the room is simple with the large king size bed taking up the majority of the space – which is fine, as you are mostly staying here to sleep anyway. As with all Marriott properties the beds are of excellent quality and provide a great nights sleep.

• The club Levels is located inside the hotel, though the access is through a dedicated elevator at the side of the entrance, it can mean the hotel can get busy with non staying guests as well as loud especially on the weekends.

Review of The Canteen at Aloft Dubai Creek – Highlights

• The all day dining restaurant at the Aloft hotel Dubai Creek (for review click here) is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are great deals to be had including business lunch offerings (priced at 45-50 aed) as well as breakfast (priced at 75 aed) and dinner (priced at 115 aed) buffets.
• For lunch as well as the regular dining menu of The Canteen focuses around bowls for sharing or individuals, such as mezze platters, salads, soups, and mains such as meat ball pasta bowl, pan seared seabass bowl, and even a poke bowl.
• Pictured below is the lamb kebab salad bowl with coriander tzatziki which is refreshing and succulent paired with a roast carrot hummus to start, which was served with lightly toasted Arabic bread. All this included a camomile tea is 45 aed as part of the set business lunch at the restaurant.
• The standards at this Aloft hotel are higher than usual including the quality of offerings, ingredients and service at the restaurant, offering an overall excellent customer experience with views of the the Dubai skyline.

• There were no real flaws with the overall service or food at the restaurant over multiple visits for breakfast and lunch. The standards were very consistent and in fact got better with each visit with the team remembering my preferences.

• The business lunch is great value for money which runs from 12:30 noon to 3pm daily on week days. There are two options: 1) appetizer and salad bowl plus a soft beverage for 45 aed (approx. 12 usd) or 2) a main bowl and soft beverage for 50 aed (approx. 13.5 usd).
• If you are a Marriott Bonvoy elite member staying at the hotel then breakfast is included if you select it as your welcome gift.

Aloft Dubai Creek Review – Commentary

The Aloft City Centre Diera (which got renamed to Aloft Dubai Creek in 2021) is attached to the mall of the same name with access ways built into the hotel. It is super quick to reach the airport – just 10 minute drive. Likewise to reach the Dubai mall or other areas around Downtown Dubai would take just 10 minute in the opposite direction as well.

The lobby of the hotel is located on the 2nd floor with large lounge space as well as their all day dining restaurant on the right of the landing. We were upgraded to the Savvy room which is slightly larger than the standard rooms. When you enter the rooms you have the bathroom and closet on the left.

The bathrooms are minimalist and well designed with ample storage space.

There are of course the standard Aloft Bliss bathroom amenities such as the soap and body lotion.

The shampoo and body wash are in containers fixed into the bath and shower. Note that not all savvy rooms have a bath some have a walk in shower so depends on which room you get and you might want to request ahead of time if you have a preference.

Continuing to the main room it follows the clean and minimalist approach. There were two bottles of water complimentary as well as a sanity kit as we checked in during Covid.

The sanity or hygiene kit offered at the Aloft is thoughtful and it seems each Marriott property is given discretion to decide how they approach amenities as this is the first property we stayed that gave gloves and a face mask.

The room from another angle shows this particular room has a connecting door for families or those who need more space.

The pool and common areas of the hotel were generally of very high specification. Much more so than one would expect for an Aloft hotel. In general it felt small but high quality. The gym pictured below had a particularly cool vibe.

Since we checked in the evening was not able to take a shot of the view – however in the morning it was very impressive with skyline of Dubai in the background, creek and golf course.

The breakfast at the restaurant The Canteen (full review here) is all things considered, very high quality, for the standard of the hotel. Typically Aloft hotels have a basic breakfast offering, but the Aloft Dubai Creek hotel provides not only high quality ingredients and a full range of hot and cold options a staff and team that cares with attention to detail.

Aloft Palm Jumeirah Hotel Review

The check in process is very smooth from the standard reception pod.We were upgraded to sea room view on the 9th floor. There are only 11 floors in the hotel with a popular Mexican restaurant on the 11th floor. On the property there is another all day dining restaurant, pool bar and beach bar. The property also has a full gym on the 1st floor as well as small conference room facilities.

Upon entering the room, there is the bathroom directly on the leftside and bedroom straight ahead. You are surrounded by mirrors which help make the small room look bigger. On the left side there is a full closet with lots of storage space, including an iron and safe.

In the main room view, you are equipped with coffee and tea supplies as well as bottled water. There is also a tv and desk in the room as well as a bench to use for your suitcase if you wish – probably the best space to unpack!

The shower is spacious and comes with shampoo and body wash.

Likewise the bathroom in the Aloft Palm Jumeirah comes with the standard amenities such as soap and body lotion. There is a hair dryer but no plug in the bathroom for safety reasons so you will need to use it nearer to the desk.

The bed is large and spacious. It is very comfortable and in fact the most important part of any hotel room. Depending on your reason for visiting Dubai you will most likely be spending most of your time in your room sleeping. The Aloft on Palm Jumeirah does not disappoint.

The views from the room are amazing, given the average rate of the rooms, these are really amazing value in Dubai with views of the Burj Al Arab and Downtown Dubai.

The hotel is located on the main road of the crescent on the Palm and one of the last hotels on the tip so it takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the property once you enter the palm. Once you reach the hotel you feel like you are in another world. It is an amazing site to see the ocean in between you and mainland Dubai.

In each room there is a small balcony with two seats and a small table to enjoy the fresh sea air. Note that when you keep the balcony door open the air conditioning.

Overall the Aloft Palm Jumeirah is an excellent hotel for a staycation or a visit to Dubai. The beach is across the street – however once you get there it is fully managed by the hotel with a full beach bar and staff to assist you with anything you need. The views on the other side of the hotel are just as stunning overlooking the villas and Dubai Marina.
